Big Blue clothing is a very patriotic and proudly South African brand with an off-beat style. This campaign engages with this patriotical side, endorsing the concept of Seriously South African. Design a brand identity and campaign for a Styrofoam recycling initiative. Through the idea of needing change and making this change beneficial to society and the environment, I arrived at the concept: ‘making a change for the better’.
The brief required an ISTD outcome, where type would be shown in exceptional ways. A choice I made was to stray from the ordinary and attempt to create my own social network, in response to the deteremental online world we live in - bringing us back to the original social network, Life.
Brunel Laboratoria wanted to launch their first ever lip care product called Kiss This Purple Haze. Purple Haze needed product branding, packaging design and a thorough integrated campaign. The campaign found its legs through the concept ‘Shameless’. Thorough research into the wild child target market was conducted, guiding the brand’s insight into naughty but fun behaviour which it would then stand for and promote.
Our team was approached by Reach for Recovery with reference to hosting the International Reach to Recovery Breast Cancer Support Conference held in March 2013, Cape Town. We provided the conference with a unique message: South Africans have a unique and innovative way of addressing problems. This expanded into the concept for the conference: Uniquely South African solutions.
The Bog Review came about due to a very strange habit of mine. Before entering any restaurant, I woud find myself diverting towards the bathrooms. Once these were inspected, I felt comfortable to make my decision of whether to sit down and eat or to kick it out of there before wondering if the food was as grotesque as the loo’s. The intention is to create a humorous acknowledgment about restaurants’ facilities, through comical, witty and sarcastic writing.
